Find The Path To Calm

DREAD. SICK FEELING IN YOUR STOMACH. CONSTANT WORRY

There’s something that keeps you constantly worrying about things you have yet to do ….you just can’t put your finger on it no matter how hard you try.

The constant feeling that something bad is about to happen and that horrible feeling never goes away.

No matter how hard you try to do something about it, it just doesn't seem to work out.

It feels like you start your day and end it constantly worried about all interactions with other people even over something like a phone call. Now it seems like you are at the end of your tether.

YOU MAY HAVE HAD THOUGHTS LIKE...

  • “Why do I dread going to places where I may have to interact with other people?”
  • “Why can’t I just cope and be ‘normal’ like other people seem to?”
  • “Will I ever stop drowning because of this anxiety?”
  • “Will it ever leave me alone and let me enjoy my life?”

If you are feeling this way daily, then it can feel so overwhelming and exhausting. Like you are simply drained of any energy from being ‘constantly on’ worrying about everything, and it’s simply difficult to carry on this way.

You know that you want to change things and feel better but just don’t know how. If things continue as they are, you are unable to live the kind of life you want. Life that is free of the constant dread and worry, or constantly needing to do the same things over and over to keep the ‘danger away’ which is preventing you from actually enjoying life.

It might not feel like it right now but if you take the needed action then you can be on your way to that life that you desire.

Life can be completely different from how things are right now, when you have the right guide and advice.

WHY DO WE FEEL ANXIOUS IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS??

This happens when we are constantly worried about how we are being perceived by others and that others are thinking badly about us.

We’re constantly fearful about how things might go wrong, how we may embarrass ourselves. Or we can be fixating on things in the past. It makes sense that we then can’t actually enjoy anything in the present.

When we are experiencing our day like this, living with these fears, our body responds accordingly by entering a state of survival called fight or flight. We may not even be aware of this happening and even turning this off can be very difficult, leading to our current struggles with constant dread.

I Am Here To Help...

Therapy helps to get to the bottom of what's really keeping you stuck, and figuring out how to actually create that life you desire.

Whether its a struggle with meetings at work, being in a crowd, or meeting new people, we help to get to the bottom of the anxiety.

By understanding what’s going on and keeping us stuck, we can actually then work towards that version of our life we want.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the approach used to help you because it is the golden standard for treating Anxiety (and Depression) with the absolute highest success rates. CBT is also considered a short-term action based approach, so you don’t have to worry about being in therapy forever.

We start with the belief that anxious feelings are driven by the way that you think and behave in an anxious situation. If you’re feeling anxious, you’re having related anxious thoughts, many of which aren’t true or based on realistic evaluations of your situation.

After learning to recognise your thinking patterns, you will learn to apply skills to modify those unhealthy thinking patterns and behaviours to change the way you feel.

Some of the Tools and Techniques you will learn:

  • Understanding what Anxiety looks like for you specifically
  • Recognising your thinking patterns and the impact on your Anxiety
  • Attention Refocusing to help with the overwhelming anxious thoughts.
  • Changing Belief Systems
  • Teaching you how to let go of worries and solve problems.
  • Teaching relaxation and breathing techniques, particularly muscle Relaxation, to control Anxiety and the physical symptoms of tension.
  • Reframing Unhealthy thinking traps
  • Creating Behavioural changes together
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • (If needed) Create a plan to deal with thoughts of hurting yourself

WAKING UP WITHOUT WORRY

At the end of your Anxiety Management Treatment, you’ll walk away with a stronger sense of confidence, feeling more assured and well-equipped to handle whatever life throws at you. You’ll have tools that you can continue using well beyond the end of therapy.

Some stress is inevitable, but you don’t need to feel Anxious to the extent of being overwhelmed every day and avoiding situations that you currently struggle with.

Enjoy everyday without the constant dread or stress. You can actually enjoy time out with friends instead of finding excuses to avoid the situations. Get time back that you normally would spend ‘getting things prepared’ for the anxiety provoking situations.
